I first started designing sites in 1997 when creating the Oaklanders web site, a place where people from a small school in Hampshire could meet to exchange stories and photographs. Since then I have created many new websites, both for professional and personal projects.

In 2007 I left my position as the primary web designer for SAQ Internet, an independent Internet Service Provider based in the South of England. At SAQ, I was responsible for carrying out quotations, producing sketches and mock-ups, as well as designing, testing, and supporting the final release.

I have trained to be aware of usability issues in terms not only of accessibility, but also in technical restrictions. I am adept at balancing an attractive site design with keeping each site within recommended bandwidth restrictions. I also ensure that my sites are cross browser friendly.

HTML

With it's wide range of uses in modern-day computing, HTML is an important skillset to have. As part of my role at smartFOCUS DIGITAL it is my responsibility to review our clients code and ensure it is suitable for a selected purpose. For example, many of the features supported by web browsers are not supported by email clients and so I have to ensure that all emails are coded in a manner that offers maximum compatability. Search Engine Optimisation

I have studied Search Engine Optimisation and helped launch the Web Promotions range of packages at SAQ. I specialise in organic SEO. I will add further details regarding my work with SEO very soon.
